PROCUREMENT FROM MSEs EIL’S COMMITMENT TOWARD MICRO & SMALL ENTERPRISES Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises on 23rd March, 2012, had notified Public Procurement Policy, 2012 in respect of procurement of goods & services, produced & provided by Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs). EIL has been committed towards fulfilment of its obligations towards the development of Micro and Small Enterprises, including SC/ ST Enterprises. EIL has successfully implemented the provisions issued through Public Procurement Policy, 2012 for MSEs, in its procurement guidelines in the same year 2012. EIL is probably one of the few PSUs which implemented the said policy within few months of the notification of this policy. This has involved concerted efforts in providing encouragement to such enterprises during enlistment as well bidding. EIL has been organising / participating in various seminars and Vendor Development Programme organised by Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises to encourage development of MSME sector including Enterprises owned by SC/ST and Enterprises owned by Women. EIL is committed to encourage and support Enterprises owned by SC/ST and Enterprises owned by Women as defined in Public Procurement Policy for MSEs so as to ensure their participation in EIL Procurement. However, EIL is facing challenges for identification of Enterprises owned by SC/ST and Enterprises owned by Women who are capable to meet EIL’s requirements based on their existing capabilities and willing to upgrade to meet the requirement. EIL is also committed to provide support to such agencies. Enterprises owned by SC/ST and Enterprises owned by Women interested to participate in EIL Procurements are requested to forward us the details of items/ goods and services, so that guidance and support for enlistment in EIL can be provided.
