Description

Crude Procurement & Shipping MRPL processes a wide variety of crude oils, ranging from light and sweet to heavy and sour. This flexibility allows MRPL to adapt to various global markets and source crude oil from diverse geographies. MRPL procures crude oil for its 15 MMTPA refinery on an FOB (Free on Board), CFR (Cost and Freight), and DAP (Delivered at Place) basis through both term and spot procurement processes. Most term procurements are on FOB purchases, supported by an internal chartering team, while spot purchases are typically on a DAP basis. For FOB procurements, MRPL’s chartering team hires vessels, ranging from mid-size ships to VLCCs, in compliance with the guidelines of the Directorate General of Shipping under the Ministry of Shipping, India. The chartering team, based in New Delhi and Mumbai, oversees all aspects of vessel hiring, operations, and settlements, ensuring logistical efficiency.
